The YWCA of Banff provides affordable housing and anti-violence programming, tackling these two tough issues within our community. We also operate the Banff Y Mountain Lodge, a hotel whose proceeds help to fund our charity work.
The roles within our organization are very varied. Some of our jobs LOOK like positions at other hotel facilities in the Bow Valley, but our organization's overall goals are designed to improve the lives of others. Maintenance
Duties:
Minor repairs and maintenance
Yardwork
Furniture moving
Painting
Assist with all duties and service calls and hostel and permanent residences
Some caretaking duties as assigned
Manual labour
Requirements:
Basic knowledge of hotel maintenance or handyman experience.
Background skills in plumbing, steam, drywall, electrical, painting, small repairs, chemical usage, safety issues, landscaping.

Housekeeping Manager
- Duties:
Oversee the entire housekeeping department in all areas of housing including: Hotel, Permanent Rooms, Dormitories, Meeting spaces, Common areas
- Recruit, train and supervise staff and manage volunteer worker
- Part of the Operations management Team
Requirements:
We are seeking a Housekeeping Manager with the following skills:
- Hands on problem solver
- Attention to detail
- Full time, permanent, accommodation provided
- Previous housekeeping experience in a supervisory capacity. Must be a hands on manager who is a leader in communication, set high standards, and develops procedures
- Self –starter and able to work independently
- Able to set priorities, plan ahead and be tightly organized
- Good sense of humor, high energy with great people skills
- Computer knowledge must be able to establish procedures and systems for their team.
Salary:
This is a full time position. Annual pay of $32, 127 plus benefits. References and RCMP check are mandatory. Hours of work are 8am-5pm Wednesday to Sunday.

Cook - Y Mountain Cafe
Duties:
* Cooking daily a la carte menu
* Cooking catering menu for group functions
* Develop special of the day
* Daily kitchen prep
* Service for meetings and banquets
* Daily cleaning duties
* Food rotation
Requirements:
* English speaking
* Grade 12 education
* Self-motivated/Team player
* Great attitude
* Neat appearance
* Good communication skills
* Able to work well independently as well as part of a team
This position is permanent, full-time and available immediately. Shift work and weekends are required. Staff accommodations and meals are available and provided on-site.
Rate of pay: $10.50/hour plus gratuities
